I am relatively new to dSLR phototography, I got my first dSLR in the summer of 2011 but already I am addicted. It has been a huge learning curve but I am gradually improving, ive been borrowing and reading lots of books from my local library :). My poor 3 year old gets followed everywhere with the camera and is great for practise (he doesn't think so though :)). Thank you in advance for anyone that helps me in this forum, I am extremely grateful for any advice you can give.

Hi Vicky,

Welcome to TP you and hope you have both an interesting and informative time here. I used to live in Badshot Lea / Farnham - There are some really nice photo opportunities there - enjoy !

About 2 miles from my house! So far one of my favourite places is RHS Wisley, they had butterflies in the glass house in February so I went twice :)

Thank you all for your walm welcomes. If anyone can suggest places you can recommend which are safe for a 3 year as well as photography that would be great. I am looking to visit Painshill ive never been before but the scenery on their website looks lovely and I need lots of practise.

Hi Vicky...I used to live in Farnham myself and my brother still does.

How about the sculpture park out towards Tilford??...should be a great place to practice composition I would think. :)

Thank you I looked up the sculpture park and it looks really interesting, I didn't even know it was there!
