I've just joined today and am a complete photo novice. I'm using a Finepix F480 just to see how I get on but as I'm enjoying it so much I'm going to get a d-slr soonish.
I've got a chronic illness which leaves me cream-crackered a lot of the time so this should be a great low-impact hobby for me! I can take photos when I'm up to it and lie around in bed with my laptop when I want to play with them. I've only ever been a point and shooter up until now so I guess I need to spend a lot of time working my way through the various forums. And it seems there is a lot of terminology to learn too.
I'm currently using picasa to play around with my images and so far so good (but then I'm easily pleased!).
The only problem I'm having so far is I can't upload photos to my gallery as it keeps timing out. Look forward to contributing, even if it is only asking questions.
