Hi I'm Steve and am just new to the DSLR world. Been taking pics for a while, but never paid much attention to ISO, aperture, shutter speed etc. However, whilst I've been saying I'll join the DSLR world.... I never got round to it :)
A recent trip to Egypt was the final straw, was extremely unhappy with out pics from my Lumix. It's a great wee cam, but not what I need!

I've bought a Nikon D3000 with a 18-55mm VR lens plus a 55-200mm VR lens, and am hoping to learn the reigns with it in due course.

Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

My kit is similar to yours having the D40x and same lenses (non VR versions). Enjoy and get some pics up for us to see.

As Geoffrey said, I had a Lumix FZ8 (bridge) and couldn't fault the images really. I upgraded as I just wanted a bigger/heavier body...

I'm sure you'll love the D3000, had a play with one at work and really like it! Sure you'll know it inside out from looking around this forum in no time! :thumbs:
