Just splashed out on a Canon 40D.
Just wanted to say great forum, lots of useful information.
Hobbies include motorsports and marine fish, both of which are way too expensive on their own, let alone when you want to take pictures of the subjects. Regularly attent motorcycle trackdays, couldnt afford being on track so much this year so thought it would be a wise idea to buy a camera to take pictures instead....That was a very bad move. Already spent enough for quite a few trackdays.
Have the 17-85 kit lens included and just ordered a lowepro something or other 300, and a Lexar 8GB memory card.
Cant decide on a zoom lens...either a Canon 70-300. Canon L series 70 - 200 F4, although no sure if this will have enough depth, a friend has one so will be trying it out at weekend. Or maybe a Sigma 100-300. Max budget is 500. I am very much a beginner so I will probably go for the Canon 70-300 due to price.
Upgraded from a bridge camera Panasonic FZ 8, the difference in quality is amazing.
