Hi there, My name is Rollo but everyone knows me as Ronnie. Myself and my business partner (who is on this site quite a bit) run a car detailing business. www.ocd-ni.com I have just got a D40 SLR to improve the pictures I take of the vehicles I am working on. My business partner is big into his photography as is my wife (35mm old school stuff and prefers developing her own and is looking to build a dark room) so eventually the bug was going to bite. I have absolutely no skill or experience and my last camera was a Kodak z710 (sorry but we got to start somewhere) Hopefully I will be annoying alot of you for information and advice and I might be able to get better. I was just wondering if there are many NI members here.
well that it form me so hope to speak and get to know some of you soon.

What about ye!!!

There are quite a few NI folk on here. Well starting with a D40 ain't a bad start at all, if you are completely new to DSLR photography it can be daunting learning to use all the settings and terms and blah blah, best thing to do is just ask if you don't know. Im newish on here myself, spent about 6 months just readign all the information. Is it just the cars your into or are you wanting to get out and about?

hey Ronnie,

fancy meeting you on this forum aswell, lol!

looking forward to seeing pics of your details!

There is a fair few N.Irish members on this site, far more than there was when I was active!

Cheers. yep i want to do more general Photography. I have a holiday home in Ireland with about one of the best 360 views you will ever see so would love to photograph round that. I love the ruggedness of the ocean and want to try to photograph it. also with my business to promote it photography is the best way to do so. i can see perfect shots in the studio as I am working and lighting is spot on to capture what I want but my camera so far is unable to capture what I see. We have a professional photographer who will do a proper shoot for us and my business partner is pretty handy with a camera (although I will never admit that to him for fear of inflating his ego lol)for this I want to learn more and also have the right equipment to do so. I am not wanting to have the best equipment of be critically acclaimed at photography but to be able to take pictures that I am proud of and as far as my landscapes one that I would like to frame.
