I've just downloaded this forum app after a fellow amateur told me about it.

I live in the village of Menstrie which is part of the Hillfoots area of Clackmannanshire.

Based in Central Scotland, I am within a 2 hour drive of some of the most spectacular historical and most scenic parts of Scotland. From my home I have a great view of the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle. Living at the foot of the Ochil Hills gives great photo opportunities over to Ben Ledi and Ben Lomond on one side, and views of the Forth Bridges on the other.

If anyone on this forum is local to me, please get in touch and we can share ideas, experiences and possibly meet of a day out with the cameras.

Regards

Jim

Welcome to the forum Jim, sounds like a great location there ... makes me quite envious, I would love to be able to take a quick drive out to some Scottish scenery!
Look forward to seeing some of your photos :)

Thanks for that. Once I figure out how to post photos ill do that. I was at stalker castle this time last week and stopped in Glencoe to take a few shots of the mountains. Managed to find a well known celebs cottage and snapped that too.

Welcome to the forums. I grew up in Bannockburn and the name Menstrie takes me back a very long way! I was at school with a guy whose family lived in Blairlogie House, below Dumyat, and their phone number - I've no idea why I remember this - was Menstrie 41. You had to go through the operator to get it.

Haven't been back there for the best part of 50 years, but I believe Blairlogie House is a hotel now?

Welcome to the forum, Jim.

I was playing bowls in Menstrie on Friday night :)

Welcome Jim, Yes i did need to google it. Fabulous part of the world. You are so lucky living there. Not like crappy Bolton.
Don't bother googling it, wast of time.
Hope you enjoy your time here.
Pedro.

Blairlogie House was a hotel, it is now owned by the Snowie family. Thanks for the welcome.

All I know about Bolton is that Peter Kay hails from there, and so does the unfunny Paddy McGuinness
