Pete Carr directed my attention to this site, and from first looks it appears pretty good! I've done a lot of photography in old/abandoned buildings, construction sites and industrial locations but now I'm looking to try some other fields, and also learn a lot more about post processing and better techniques.

Currently I'm using a Nikon D50, having upgraded from a Fuji S5000 last July, and I'm just about to buy a couple of new lenses, probably a Sigma 10-20 and a Nikon 18-70 (to replace the busted kit lens that is glued on at the moment!! Oops!).

Ian.

Hello there :) I recognize that avatar :D Great bunch of guys here, always something new to learn for anyone willing.

Hi and welcome  Enjoy your stay :)

Seems to be a popular location for photographers :)

Hello :)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys - I'm moving house at the moment, but if I have time I'll stop by at the old place and pick up my PC and try and post a few pictures up.

Yes, Liverpool is a very photogenic city, and there are so many different aspects to it. Right now I've got a bit of a dock obsession going on - originally I came from a village in the south of England where the most industrial thing we ever saw was a tractor!! Having been up here for about 6/7 years now, I'm still fascinated by the industrial relics - sometimes it's hard to believe the importance of Liverpool's docks over the last 200 years, given that now half of them are in-filled and disused.

hiya :)

Welcome Ian!
