Hi all, I'm a Brit expat living in Istanbul. I've just revived my old hobby of photography, which faded away some time back in the 80's....in the days of the OM2n. I just bought a Nikon D90, which apparently can do everything including make me a coffee, I've yet to figure out how it does this, or anything else for that matter. I'm here to pick up tips, squeeze advice out of you, and generally be a pain.

Cheers!

David

Hi David, Welcome to TP.

I have no idea what OM2n is. I've only got digital experience, but lets be honest, the basic principals haven't changed, it sounds to me like digital has just made things a whole lot easier.

Look forward to seeing some images of Istanbul appearing in the forums.

Olympus OM2n, probably the best hobbyist SLR of the 70's and 80's.....well, so I think anyway. Jump forward 30 years and it seems like something dug up in ancient Egypt. I hope to get out and take some shots of the city over the summer, and will post them up as I go.

Ah, I ony just made the 70's by a few months so that will be why I've not heard of it. Sorry if I make you feel old!

Welcome Dave, its a great Forum they are such a friendly bunch so if you get stuck ask a few questions.
I bet the light over there is great, compared to the UK's grey and overcast skies.
Dave

The OM-2n was an awesome camera - though I'd describe it as a Pro-'lite' system...
Those Zuiko lenses were easily as good as the Nikkor lenses I went over to after I kept breaking the 'Olly's...

Oh and welcome by the way...
