Hi all 
from Gross-Umstadt in Germany!
I've been taking pictures for decades (yes, decades
), ever since I emptied my bank account to buy a used Canon AE1, back in the 1980s. After giving my Nikon D60 to my daughter, I now own a Nikon D5100.
I did not think about things like lines, light, composing a picture, until - hmmm - two years ago. I have been learning since I discovered there is a difference between a picture which is just "nice", and a picture which is "wow".
My favourite place to take pictures is Scotland. I have been there with the family several times; and in 2009 I got completely crazy, bought a tent, a sleeping bag and a rucksack, and started walking. :bonk: In less than 4 weeks I will be on Skye again, not for walking, but with family & dogs, and of course with the camera bag. I just hope that the weather will be a wee bit better than last May...
