Just started a college course in creative technologies, which I'm hoping will improve my photography.
I've been a happy snapper for a number of years, though always with pretensions of producing photographs which others would want. My first SLR was a Pratika and from there I advanced to an Olympus. Although most of my shots were with colour film, I have also had a shot of shooting onto slides and once black and white film.
Moving onto digital, I now shoot with an Olympus E510. I like taking photos of street scenes and events. I've posted onto flickr "Olympus 1872" and facebook. I've had some good comments there, though nobody has yet given me any constructive criticism. I'm not saying though that my ego will bear a bashing,

As my name suggests at the moment I take photos of Parades, hence the question I've posted. Any help would be appreciated and once I find my way round the site I'll hopefully post some shots.
