Hey I'm lewis from Essex, I don't know a lot about photography but have always been interested. And last week I was on holiday in Greece and ended up on a boat trip and ended up sitting next to a photographer which inspired me to get a bit of a better camera so yesterday I went out and bought a Fujifilm finepix s8400w bridge camera. I know its nothing compared to what you all probably use but its a start. Hopefully can pick up a lot of tips and techniques etc from all you guys and will appreciate any help.

hay lewis how you doing. where about,s in Essex are you from. You should find this site very useful as you start to learn
 
Canvey island mate near Southend on sea or Hadleigh.. going *** Tyler country park today so hopefully will get some good first shots there fingers crossed.
 
yep i know im in chelmsford. Was up at hadleigh castle the other week great place for photographing
 
Oh really so not far may have to take a trip up there soon only 5 mins away from me. Still got to learn all the editing and stuff too but plenty of time to play around I guess haha
 
Oooooh yes but trust me when I say that if you pic up the photography bug then your bridge camera will soon be on ebay. I think I had mine for about 3 months before I wanted an slr and im now on my 3rd. Although I did get some great pics with my bridge

Oh really!! Haha yeah I bet, this is the most expensive camera I've ever had lol what mega pixel is all of yours I was going to go for a SLR but they was so expensive especially as a first. And hopefully the zoom will be big enough to start with anyway (44x optical) what would be the difference with mine and a DSLR would it be that you could change the lenses etc or more?
 
Also sorry for all the questions Haha what picture editing software do you use Photoshop or is there better? Thanks appreciate any help

Its not all about the mega pixels me old fruit unless your looking to be printing on large format alot. Im shooting with a canon 50d at the mo, not had it too long so still experimenting. Oh and im using photoshop elements 11. Got it as a surprise present the other year, has taken alot to get my head round but im liking it.
