Hello fellow fotography freaks
I've been lurking in the shadows checking you out, so now is time to come out, so to speak
I'm a complete newbie to photography, apart from some point and shoot stuff and some shots on the iphone
I stalled and delayed, checked and rechecked, before deciding on a d3100 in mid january, which is a marvelous wee gadget
This place is EXACTLY what us newbies need, and you older hands seem a really nice, helpful and often amusing bunch
I may not post much, but intend to keep an eye on you from my shadows
Seriously, thanks to all posters, it seems a nice community here and i look forward to improving my photography in the coming weeks, months and years with your assistance
I'm now snapping on manual, with mixed results, but absolutely loving it, and its nice to NOT feel like a freak talking all things camera, even reassuring to know that constantly wandering round thinking of photo ops, kit and what to try next isnt as weird as the missus thinks
