Hi,
My name is Thierry, and I've been living in Corsica (I must be French even if I don't actually feel French ...).

Photography is one of my passions alongside with music (I'm a weak guitar player) and English culture, but my English is far to be good, even if I have taken the habit to spend a week each year in London which is one of the place where I find most of my artistic inspirations.

I've been participated to French photography forums and now I feel the need to expand my universe to other horizons, and after some research I have chosen your forum.

I rediscovered photography in favour of the digital revolution and I'm mainly a landscapes photographer. I use a Nikon D200 with some Nikon and Sigma lenses. Most of my pictures are taken in Corsica and in England and I hope to share them with you.

Best regards.

Thanks for your welcome.

I hope that my pictures will be good enough, thanks again for your welcome

Hi,
last week marks my return to this forum.
I have chosen TP (from many other photographic forums, included French language ones) to get critics and comments about my new pictures - most of them shot in England but also in Corsica, before publishing them in my own photoblog.
In return I'm ready to humbly and honestly give my advice on yours and to learn from your comments.
Regards

You will be welcome and I think that you will never forget your visit.

I'm visiting Sardegna in July, I might take a day or two from our trip to stay in Corsica.. Any suggestions where I should go?

There is a concise website in English where you will find everything you need to know about Corsica :
http://www.holidaysincorsica.co.uk/

and a second one about history

Do you know that Horatio Nelson lost his right eye helping the Corsican patriots against the French in Calvi ?

And what do you think of these two picture taken one at Westminster Abbey and the other at St Anne Soho.

by the benefit of the Act of Insolvency; in consequence of which he
registered his kingdom of Corsica for the use of his creditors"

D.O.M
In the memory of PASQUALE DI PAOLI, one of the most eminent and
illustrious characters of the age in which he lived. He was born at Rostino in
Corsica, April the 5th 1725, was unanimously chosen at the age of thirty
supreme head of that island and died in this metropolis February the 5th
1807, aged 82 years.
The Early and better part of his life he devoted to the cause of liberty, nobly
maintaining it agains usurpation of Genoese and French tyranny. By his
many splendid atchievements, his useful and benevolent institutions, his
patriotic and public zeal manifested upon every occasion. He, amongst the
few who have merited such glorious a title, most justly deserved to be
hailed the father of his country. Being obliged by the superior force of his
enemies to retire from Corsica, he sought refuge in this land of liberty and
was here most graciously received (amidst the general applause of a
magnanimous nation) into the protection of his majesty king Georges the
third. By whose fostering hand and munificence, he not only obtained a safe
and honourable asylum, but was enabled during the remainder of his days,
to enjoy the society of his friends and faithful followers, in affluent and
dignified retirement.
He expressed to the last moment of his life, the most grateful sense of his
majesty's paternal goodness towards him. Praying for the preservation of his
sacred person, and the prosperity of his dominions .
