Hi. I'm new to this forum, but not new to photography.
I've been making pictures in one form or another since I was a teenager. I've been through a number of cameras down the years (haven't we all?), and now have a Canon 5D/24-105L lens & a Canon G1X.
I currently have a hankering (you all know how it is) for a Fuji X-Pro1 - there seem to be some amazing deals around at the present time, and I'm sure it's a matter of days rather than weeks before I pull the trigger!
I was a long-standing Canon man back in the days of film, having owned an EOS50E and 5 for many years, before moving on to medium format with a Bronica 645. I've also used a variety of 5x7 cameras as well as a 10x8 for a while. I used to to my own developing & printing, having learned as part of a number of City & Guilds courses I studied in the '90s. That really kindle my love for b&w photography that still burns today.
I gained my LRPS accreditation as a result of the C&G courses, and then went on to achieve ARPS accreditation (although I'm no longer a member).
My favourite photographers are John Sexton (who I've been lucky enough to meet and own 2 of his prints that currently hang proudly on my lounge wall) and Brassai - the man who, for me, invented "street" reportage photography.
Apart from photography, I enjoy listening to music and play guitar (purely for my own pleasure these days), I enjoy reading and also play Petanque. I love rugby union and can regularly be found on the South Terrace at the legendary Cardiff Arms Park watching Cardiff RFC and the mighty Cardiff Blues.
I'm divorced, have two wonderful daughters and live just outside Cardiff.
