Hello from Bristol

Hello all, my name is Mark and I am 45 living in Bristol, UK

I bought a camera in February to attach to my telescope and as it came with a kit lens I started to use it for normal photography.

I am now hooked and have bought a couple of lenses, the 50mm F1.8 and a Tamron SP 70-300 DI VC USM F4-5.6

My wife bought me a Canon 7D for my birthday last weekend so now I really need to learn how to use it properly

Off to post a couple of pics with the new camera from my visit to Paignton zoo last weekend.

As for the Tamron lens, for the price I am very happy with it. Fairly heavy, seems well built and is pretty quiet to me.
Sharp shots can be had though it gets a little softer at the 300mm end and the vibration control works very well.
Would happily reccomend this lens to anyone not prepeared to splash out on an L lens. I am borrowing a friends 70-200 F/2.8 in a week or so and will be doing some comparisons to see how much better a lens that costs about £1400 more than my Tamron can be.
