I was referred to this forum by a chap who uses my local in MK.

I'm looking forward to lively, entertaining, informative and educational discourses.

Any starting points to get me "up and running" would be much appreciated.

Well .... some starters for ten


  1. Don't ask "what tripod should I buy ?"
  2. Don't ask "which is best Canon or Nikon ?"
  3. Do keep a sense of humour (not always easy)

Always great to see another new member - I hope you make yourself at home.

If you're fairly new to photography the Talk Basics section will be a good starting point both for browsing and asking any questions of your own . . . or indeed if you're not new to this, all help and advice for newcomers in that section is always appreciated.
The Talk Photography sub forum's also a lively forum area with lots of general photography discussion from members at all levels of ability.

Don't forget to look at some of the photo sharing sections too though - always lots of inspiration to be had there.
