Hey, I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm Scruff (Joe), and I live on the Isle of Wight, UK.
i've had my camera for around 3 months, and it is a Nikon D3000.
I only have 2 lenses at the moment, one is the original Nikkor 18-55mm VR lens that came with the camera package, and the other is a Sigma 70-300mm DG Macro lens. I carry my equipment in a LowePro camera back pack.

I'm very new to this hobby, but it is one that has interested me for the last few years. It was about time I did something about my interests, so here I am now with my own DSLR.

I'm very open to all areas of photography, but I would like to concentrate on landscape and sunrises at the moment.

I'm currently in La Renovie in southern France, and have taken well over 900 photo's in 6 days, I hope at least a few of them are ok. If not, they will at least serve as a memory of my time here.
We took a trek to the Millau Bridge the other day, it was an immense site and I couldn't help snapping away at it from every possible angle to gain as many perspectives of it as possible.

Anyway, thats me- so I'll stop going on now.

Hello to everyone, and I look forward to my stay here.

All the best,

scruff.

 Hi Joe :) :welcome: to Talk Photography

hi and welcome
my recent visit to the iow...enabled me to ramble away from the coach group we were in as they had lunch and visit winkle street...very picturesque

Hi Joe,
Welcome to TP..:)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

The Isle of Wight is very picturesque, but I suppose I may not appreciate it as much as I should given that I live there.
It is a beautiful place to get away for the weekend or a short holiday, but living there brings an unfortunate feeling of being trapped sometimes.

I'm still not very confident about taking photo's, as I've not even scraped the surface as of yet.

I've got a good friend over here that has agreed to 'show me the way', but we still have not been out together, hopefully I'll manage to be free enough to tag along soon. There's so many questions I need to ask, and so much that needs explaining to me- But I'm a quick learner and pride myself on picking thing's up quickly.

Again, thanks for all the warm welcomes!

Scruff.
