Hi There
My name is Alan, I am 31 yrs old and have been into photography for the last couple of years.
I have a Panasonic lumix FZ38 bridge camera, which I bought second hand off my father in law as he bought it as a fancy toy for himself and never really used it much.
I am quite into close up Macro photography on flowers, insects and to be honest all manor of things, but I am also really into photographing people, especially since my 4 month old daughter Izzabella was born, I love the look of "professional" portraits and would dearly love to improve to that level myself. I do know however that I have a long way to go with many varying factors to consider such as focal lenghth, lighting, composing a picture & backgrounds etc.
I have found that my camera has limits and have been saving up to treat myself to a DSLR camera. I quite like the look of some of the Cannons and have been advised that these are a really good make to go for, both for availability of a variety of different lenses and also reliability & robustness.
I have about £500 to spend, but dont know which camera is best to go for ???
, I dont want to go for one that is slightly cheaper, just to find out in the future that the one i have bought is much more limited and doesnt have capabilities that i may require as i become more a more profisiant photographer than if I had spent a little bit more in the first place. I would prefere to spend that little bit more to have a better camera.
The next issue I have is where to go to get my camera ? is there a good place that someone could recommend for me to look ? obviously if it is on-line though i would need to know what i am looking for first, as there is no-one there for advise !! Also I do not always tend to trust the people in the shop as they are sometimes prone to convincing you to spend more on a dearer camera that really doesn't offer you much more in performance ? Hense me asking for your advise.
As you can probably tell, I am really not sure which way to go here so would be really really greatful for any help and guidance that could be offered to me by members on here that to be quite honest have a much higher degree of expertease and experience than I do.:bang:
Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing your responses,
Alan
