Hello everyone!

My name's Elizabeth or Ellie!

Talk Photography Forums were mentioned in great book I took out of the library last week: 'Digital Photography' by Kim Gilmour, U3A 2010.

I've loved photography for years but am a beginner at digital photography. A kind friend has given me Corel PSP X2 because he treated himself to PSP X3:)!

I'm used to forums and am an enthusiastic member of Computeract!ve Forums (I've gone a bit 'geeky' in me old age:lol:!)

I may not post much for a while but I'll be here trying to learn!

Nice to meet you;)!

Welcome aboard, Ellie !

You've come to the right place - TP is surely one of the UK's biggest/best photography forums and it's easy to pick up good tips on equipment and improving one's photos here.

Enjoy :)!

Thanks very, very much, Andy and Pete!:thankyou:

old age is relative. There are a few fossils in here to help on that score. Welcome :D

welcome to the forum ,i am sure you will find loads of tips around in here as this place is a treasure trove of information

Thanks ever so much, Ian and Neville!

It looks like a great place to learn! I had a Canon Ixus 105 for Christmas, after relying on my mobile phone's camera for some years. Before that, I used cameras with 35 mm film.

I've just started to explore the new camera as I've been doing a computer course (ECDL Extra) till now. I passed my exams  and digital photography is my new project!

My Nokia phone has taken some 'not bad' photos:

Nice to meet you!

Welcome Ellie - was in your part of the world today...... I really must get a compact so's I can get some piccies without having to carry all the gear.

Worcestershire has some great scenery.

Hi Barry!

Yes, it does! I'm originally a Brummie and am relatively new to rural Worcestershire! I lived in Greece for a long time, in Athens. I'm a 'City Girl' really, but the countryside here offers some lovely 'photo opportunities'!

I can recommend the Canon Ixus 105 if you want something to stick in your pocket! There was a good deal on Amazon just before Christmas, but I've just had another look there and the price has gone up:(! It was £99.00 with quite a lot of extras thrown in:
