hello all. New to forums so apologies in advance if I post about topics previously discussed. Got serious about photography just about the time digital was really taking over, so have now abandoned film completely. Have built up some kit and am working on my skills to justify it all.
So, in the great tradition of being a newbie, here's my first question:
I keep my kit, including laptop, in a cupboard which gets very cold. I haven't noticed any problems, but wondered how wise it is to bring electrical equipment out of a cold room and start using straight away - could there be a problem with condensation or any other repercussions?

regards

Si

Hi Si, welcome to TP.

I'd of thought your laptop should be ok, depending on how cold is cold ?

Hi Si, I'm new here as well. Welcome.:)

My advice on your camera & laptop is don't keep it in a cold room :nono:

Thanks all for your warm welcomes and "cold" advice. Me thinks another storage area will be found! Looking forward to getting to know you.

Cheers

Hi

Just remember expansion and contraction is bad for small electronic parts and
condensation collects on the cooler parts too

:agree: Yep, I had a pc running for 5 years. Switched it off when I went on holiday and it never ran again

Welcome to TPF
