Hello and Nikon 50mm F1.8 D Af - will autofocus work with Nikon D50?

Evening all!

I'm thinking of buying this lens:

Nikon 50mm F1.8 D Af

I currently have a Nikon D50 and have read that the auto focus will not work on certain cameras. Could someone please clear this up for me? So, will the auto focus work on my Nikon D50, or will I need to focus manually?

Also, would it be compatable on a D300 or D700 and make use of the auto focus?

Yes, it will autofocus fine on your D50 and on the 300 and 700, it's just the D40,40x,60 and 3000 that it won't work fully on.
 
I can also confirm it will AF on the D50 fine since i tried one with my D50.
