hello and help!

Hi - This is my very first post on any forum, so forgive me if i'm asking the obvious...

I've been loitering for a week or two and am plucking up the courage to stick my first photo up here for a bit of critisicsm (constructive, of course) and guidance, but just wondered whether there was a set format that I should use.

I've taken the pics with a canon 400D, and haven't done any re-sizing or anything... what dimensions should i re-size to, or do i just go ahead and upload?
