Hello to all those who visit the welcome forum here (from my experience, the least visited area in any forum).
I've been lurking here for a while since I heard about it on the AVForums, and I've really enjoyed looking at peoples photos and the friendly attitude around here. I think i'll fit in nicely.
I'm a beginner in photography and consistently get it wrong, but sometimes get it right. I picked up my 20d a few months back (July I think) and have been shooting manual with it ever since - I had done a bit of reading and research beforehand, so had an ok understanding of all the bells and whistles, and how to use them. My interest stemmed from aviation, but now I'm dipping my toes into portraits, landscape/rural, wildlife and urban/candid photography. I'll mostly be hanging around trying to learn a thing or two, and will definitely post some photos to be torn apart.
I'm also a big reader and film lover. My most recent film was 'The Truman Show'. This is quite ridiculous if you know me - i've seen the majority of Traffaut's catalogue, and most of Hitchcocks, and yet 'Truman Show' had always been on my list, waiting. My most recent book was 'Fly For Your Life' by Robert Tuck, british fighter ace of WW2. Epic reading, if a little optimistic.
