I'm Andrea, just joined and hoping to find my way around all these forums and get involved where I can.

A brief background: I started taking photos with a little Voightlander Vito B at the age of 13 and bought my first SLR with the wages from my summer job at 16. I used to develop and print my own B&W photos years ago, and I was a Canon user for 20-odd years until four years ago when I switched to Nikon.

I've not done much shooting for pleasure for the last couple of years as my work got in the way but I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of it this summer. I enjoy most types of photography, from nature to sports to planes, and I hope to get involved in the challenges to help my learning curve.

Hi Dave, sadly the Bay Queen has been closed for several years. There is some work being done on it at present but possibly to turn it into apartments, as with a lot of the other hotels.

+1 to the Nikon fan club, excellent. ;) Oh, and I expect you to chirp up when I am planning my long-overdue trip to the Isle of Man sometime later on this summer. I shall want every photogenic sight on the island.

Hi Andrea. Hope you get back into the swing of your photography again. I sometimes go through dry patches where I cant get the motivation up to do any tog work. Its frustrating.

Welcome Andrea - look forward to seeing some of your pics :) even though they are Nikon......... lol - only kiddin
