I've been lurking for a week, so thought it was about time I dropped in and said hello

There are some great photos on here and TBH I'm feeling a bit out of my depth. I've always loved taking photos and I've just been given my first decent camera, a Fujifilm Finepix S1000 . . . OK, I know it's very humble compared to all the equipment you lot have, but it's a big step up for me.

Anyway, you seem like a friendly bunch and I've got to start somewhere. Hoping to learn a lot along the way and (gulp) I might even put some of my early photo attempts up later for you to cast your eyes over.

I haven't been here long, but I have got so much good feed back and picked up so much information from the forums that it has been difficult to log off. Everybody is really friendly and they seem to accept novices asking stupid questions.

As I said I've got a lot to learn. Busy browsing through the tutorials at the moment. Some great ideas there and quite a bit of inspiration for things I'd like to try.
