Hi all very new to this forum, in fact this is the first time I have visited, but it was recommended in the highest way by a friend of mine.
I have been messing with photography for the last year, but am far from being an expert or even "advanced amateur", but I do love taking pics.
So I just got a good deal on my first DSLR camera a Nikon D40X and it is a massive change from my old Sony DSC-H5 (good camera but not DSLR).
Now I could use my Sony OK, but never fully understood what I was doing with the Aperature, Shutter Speeds etc.
So I could do with a good general overview on how to use my camera and wondered whether you thought it is good idea to do a photography course? I am not wanting to become a Pro, but I would like to know how to use my camera correctly and get the best I can from it.
So would a course be a good idea or would it be better to just spend time reading these forums?
