Hello all, i've been a member for a while maybe even a long while but this is my first post of any type on here so i'm a noob i believe the term is, i wanted to ask why the low 200kb upload file size? surely if each member has an allotted space then it should not matter as they cannot exceed that space, the reason i ask is because all my low resolution images are reduced to 800pixels (longest edge) as standard with a resolution of 92ppi (when did dpi get banished?) and a jpeg quality (in lightroom 3) of 100 max, this is giving me file sizes of around 600kb i thought i would lower this on my latest batch of images to 800 pixels 72ppi jpeg quality 80 plus i minimized all metadata and still i end up with file sizes exceeding your 200kb by over 123kb so for me to display on this site i need to create another folder on my system purely for talk photography and then reduce sizes even further, i could just reduce my current low res folder but all my other sites would then be using much lower quality images than they currently do, is this the only way? Many thanks to anyone that replies and sorry to make my first post a bit on the negative side.
