Hi All!
Just wishing to get some advice as wishing to get my partner a nice Christmas present...photography and camera's aren't my forte!

He has recently bought a sony a200 camera, and has no real experience but wishes to use the camera mainly for photos of his daughter, cars etc. He isnt wishing to become an expert, but I am thinking about getting him a lens for christmas. Like I say he is a beginner, and he has commented on his pictures and said things like how he wonders what would be suitable to; obtain further clarity in his pictures re colour and detail wise, distance??

I really have no idea what would be a suitable lens e.g. where to buy, bought as new/second hand, what sort, prices. I am thinking around £100-£150??

Sorry if this topic is a bit wide, but I really have no idea- photos are his department! :cuckoo:

Before any meaningful advice can be given we would need to know the range (size) of the lens he has at present, my guess is it will be about 18-55ish. Have a look and get the numbers on the front of it noted down and re-post....Help will come your way:thumbs:
 
Cheers Paddysnapper- will have a look at the box and packaging it came in during the week :)
 
Managed to have a quick look without him knowing...the details I could get were 18-70mm. Everything he has came as standard with this camera.
