weekly Helen C's 52 for 23. Week 52 - Favourite shot of 2023

Good abstract type liquid shot Helen. I'm not sure if it's B/W but either way it's effective.

Liquid shot works well, sure I've seen posters similar to your pic.
I wonder how much time is spent thinking about the themes, I was hanging the washing out a few weeks ago when a glider came over and I though that's connected:)

I was making coffee and mulling over the theme when I heard the sudden rainstorm and looked up to the kitchen skylight - "ah ha!"
Well spotted. Lovely effect makes an intriguing photo.

It's weird how an image like this plays tricks on you.

I would have said it was water on a painted surface - like a car. Not shot through a window.

Whichever, it's a great shot;

Nice bit of watery abstract Helen :)

LOL, you were in the same boat as I was Helen. I like the image.

:D:D

Worth the wait Helen, it's a nice image. I'm imagining rain on a car but it could be so many things.

That's lovely!

@nog It generally is on my back burner until I get a shot I can use... surprising how many times when in the car I've nearly missed the road while trying to peer over hedges!

Agree, that is a lovely image nicely taken.

Goops. Easily done!
Nice abstract droplets shot.

works for the theme, very effective.

Thanks very much for the comments. It's nice to post something a little different now and again... now back to the fields :D

Best laid plans this week... I was asked if I would like to join the guys going up our church bell tower. They were looking at replacing the ladder that leads to the roof which a H&S report came back as needing attention. Distant.... cracking, shot must be sorted!! After clambering an incredibly narrow and steep circular staircase then a bottom-clenching ladder into the belfry (no bats seen) even the guys with me wouldn't risk the totally rotten wooden ladder to the roof!
So, instead, a rather bucolic scene. The barley is just starting to reach the green and wispy stage and I loved the leading line to the distant trees which are still full of blossom and beautiful colour. Rape is out at the moment too - everything seems to be happening at once due to lots of sun and rain!

Lovely spring colours and a nice use of the tyre lines in the field leading the eye from the foreground into the distance.

Lovely leading lines and colour, that tractor driver must be a photographer:)
It’s a great time of year in the countryside.(y)

Lovely countryside scene.

I have photos of a Barley field gradually turning gold ad the summer moves on .

Lovely leading lines and colour in the scene.

That's a lovely scene, great for the theme and lovely colours and leading lines. Nicely done.

Great use of the lines in the fields

I don't know why I like lines in arable fields so much, but I do.
I was metal detecting next to a corn field once, suddenly a Muntjac appeared in the line, saw me, and galloped up the line towards the top of the slope of the field.
Your picture reminded me of that evening.

That is nice - like the parallel lines going up and the hint of clouds in the sky... can almost feel the grass swaying in the breeze....

Excellent shot the green of the field coupled with the lines really works.

Thanks for checking in and for the lovely comments. Not exactly an exciting shot but judging by the replies - a nice calm scene!

Another bucolic scene. This time its a phone shot as I didn't have my camera with me so apologies for the slight motion blur and oof bits!
However, the long slender stems of the cow parsley always look so fragile.

Nice take on the theme Helen :)

Nice bright spring / summer nearly pic.
Only crit from me would be the top of the tree peeping out on RHS

Two wonderful shots Helen, your Distant shot looks so soft and inviting and the leading line work really well. Your Fragile shot fits the theme perfectly.

Fragile shot works well for the theme.

Nice one Helen, fits the theme to a T. No problem with phone shots if that was what you had.

@nog I totally agree but I didn't think the shot was worth the time removing it.

That's a good take on fragile Helen, lovely colourful image.

Good balance between sky and plants, light and airy.

Lovely image and I agree with shinysideup, there is a nice balance between the flowers and sky / clouds.

Bit of a busy week so late post. The cute little lambs have been gorging on the lush grass and are now looking much more robust and hanging out together rather than with mum - have to say they are also looking rather tasty :D

Stop it you horrible woman and send me the really cute little black and white one!;):D:ROFLMAO:

Lovely photo, good grouping I like the way the way the sun is on their backs and they are all looking at the camera. Bet you said "say mint sauce" to get that shot!

Good eye contact with them all.
Nice robust lambs in a good group portrait position.

Great image and well timed. Really like this (and I agree, they do look tasty :D)

Lovely interpretaion of the theme Helen. I would never have thought of that.
