weekly Helen C's 52 for 23. Week 52 - Favourite shot of 2023

That IS a lot of catkins. My hazels have them but not in such numbers.
 
Good light highlights these. The tree is certainly full of these.
Nice capture Helen. Are you sure it is a beech tree?
 
I really like this, it has an almost abstract feel to it and the light is lovely. My bees would be all over that collecting pollen :)

@Peter123 - Thanks and my bad... it's a hazel, not beech - I had just been looking at cutting back a beech!

That's really nice - lovely light and they do stand out beautifully against the darker, slightly blurred background
 
Luckily had my camera in the car on a moody day. I often admire this line of trees - there is a repeating pattern to the species but then each is individual.

Trees sit very nicely against the sky. I like the composition too.
 
Very pleasing to look at, beautiful light for foreground and trees and ominous looking skies behind.

Reminds me that I should maybe leave the house for some of my 52 shots.

Really nice picture, the light and the crop make it along with the contrast between the field and the trees/sky. Being really picky, a tree on the left has been cut off- said I was being really picky:)

Aww, thank you all for the lovely comments. This one was definitely all about the light which I seem to spend a lot of time chasing!
 
I took this at the weekend on a trip to Kent/Sussex borders. Unfortunately my tripod blew over at Dungeness and face-planted my favourite lens into the shingle which badly chipped the front element. It's now gone off to Canon to see if they can repair it. Ouch!!

A different and good idea for tunnels.
Subtle mono conversion works well.
 
Interesting take on the theme and graet processing, I can feel the grit between my toes.

Thanks for dropping by and for the kind comments. The lens is with Canon - waiting to hear back with trepidation... and a big wallet I would imagine!
 
Bit of a busy week coming up so I need to post and run... hopefully will get round to comments in the next couple of days.

I'm on a mission/project at the moment to photograph agricultural landscapes so expect more field rather than coastal shots in the coming weeks.
Caught this fleeced field warming up in beautiful spring sunshine yesterday...
