BBC1 9:00pm today

Looks like a good wildlife watch.

It's only on BBC Scotland. I've missed first 20 mins :'( . I hope they repeat it.

Pretty impressive so far

Well that was superb.

3 more episodes to come.

Yip a good insight to the Inner Hebrides. Hope they show the Outer Hebrides as im off there in under 4 weeks from now. A fantastic place for wildlife photography and a must do for those who are serious about it.

I used to stay on Harris / Lewis when my older brother was a ghillie / game keeper there. Fantastic place but i haven't been back in years.

Never did those islands as yet but will do in the coming years..Usually do North Uist every year and last year we went to Eigg which was fantastic in its own way:thumbs:

Hi,

Was Ewan only picked for narration due to being Scottish? He has to have one of the most boring voices ever ( a typical mono-tonal scotsman ) and if he says " on the Islands on the Edge" one more time !!!

Why do the BBC have to try and dramatise everything, by which I mean the thunder sound effects, I'm pretty sure that was edited in.

Other than that the filming was of the usual high BBC standard and enjoyable none the less.

I look forward to the rest of the series, sort of lol.

Just back from 10 days on South Harris/Lewis/Uist and it was superb. Only disappointment was not getting over to St Kilda due to the constant swell being too rough for the boat :-(

Mike.

I must admit, they did overdo the 'Islands on the edge' line.

Found it a bit boring from a wildlife perspective, and Ewan McGregor didn't help droning on. The missus liked it as she saw her house from when she used to live on Islay, but all the dramatic background music for some geese taking off isn't needed.

Damn missed this - will have to see if I can pick up the repeat.

Great place - have kayaked in the Outer Hebrides including two separate trips to St Kilda. A rough ride to get there, even in a 40ft boat, but well worth it. A magical place and you really feel that remote, it feels like a trip to the edge of the world.

I'm going to the Isle of Mull for a week on friday then on to my friends who live on Skye, hoping for good weather.:clap::clap:

Just been watching this on iplayer, really enjoying it.

I watched some of it and I have to agree with this, not just the 'effects' but the constant reminders of how perilous it is for animals and birds. I was expecting Frasier from Dads Army to chime it with "one wave and he could drown! drown I tell you! drown!" during the scene with the seal pup in the water.

Great cinematography but over dramatised narration as so much tv is these days.

No quips about over dramatised forum posts if you please :P

I got upset about the little baby owls being abandoned in episode 2:(. I wonder if anybody stepped in, rescued them and took them to a sanctuary or if they really were left to die.
