Heavy clutch - motorcycles

Not exactly photography related but I know we have few bikers on here.
My Sprint 1050 GT has a very heavy clutch and it got to the point when driving into town (London) that it hurt my hand/wrist/arm so much I thought I would have to sell the bike, after an hour or so of riding I found it almost impossible to use the clutch at all.
So, I had a search and found these guys https://prospec.co.in/ on youtube and bough the clutch fatigue reducing item (in all black).
Fitting was a doddle although I need to re-route the main cable as it's now badly routed, this may mean I have to get a shortened main cable, but, having fitted the part I can confirm the clutch action is much much lighter and releasing the clutch is now smooth and easy.
I am slightly concerned that the pin inside the unit may not have a long life and fail, but I am probably just being paranoid.

Great communications from the owner and he seems a really decent guy, postage was going to be about £18 and the unit was about £25, so all in a bit of a risk but I thought for £43 is was worth a punt. In the end they chap's friend was coming over to London, so I nipped over and collected it after work and saved the postage costs, which has made this the best £25 I have ever spent on a bike.

Soon as I have re-routed the cable and put a few miles through the unit I'll update.

I don't have a problem with the clutch on my old bike but might look into the EasyRide as buffeting is an issue, so many thanks Matt !

Have you (Matt) tried other Sprints to see if it's all of them that have heavy clutches? Might be a sticky cable that is/was the problem - the liners can wear out and no amount of lubing will get them working lightly again.

had a few bikes and seem to differ wildly, honda heavy as crap, kawasaki seem light. Harleys use hydraulics as ridden by out of date accountants, defo check the cable, also you can easily change springs in bike clutches.

i once had a suzuki GS1000 that had a heavy duty gorilla clutch...i developed such strong muscles in my left hand i had to stop masturbating with it in case i pulled my penis off, great for drag racing but not so good for the sex life

Have you (Matt) tried other Sprints to see if it's all of them that have heavy clutches? Might be a sticky cable that is/was the problem - the liners can wear out and no amount of lubing will get them working lightly again.

7000 miles only ridden since new, so I am sure the cable is fine, others have put in lighter springs and got clutch slip, this was a much easier and cheaper option.
