Heatwave..?

Got the fan on, and all the curtains drawn. Nice and cool here. Off to visit the grand children today, so hope it's a nice day. Just not too hot :-)

Enjoy!

I am taking my daughter out for dinner tonight before she jets off to Paris tomorrow for 2 weeks

Hmm. The Cornish summer rocks along in its own style - right now it is fairly dark outside and has just started raining. With the temperature a heady 13 degrees I may just turn on the heating soon...

Hi Steve, the nice bit about our Cornish weather, in my mind, is that its cooler in Summer and warmer in the winter than most of the rest of the Country!!

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind a bit of real summer - having moved to Cornwall from southern Spain I do miss the sun and heat, and am no way close to being able to cope with the rain.
As for warmer winters - they are dark and wet - being a few degrees less cold makes little difference to me.
All that said, when the sun shines it is beautiful here....

Typical! Currently persisting down with a chance of thunder at 2pm. Guess who's supposed to be on a course starting at 2! At least the temperature is comfortable at the moment.

Ah! It's 30deg and beergarden weather here. Time to sit in the shade with a cool beer in a 1 litre glass.

Augustiner Biergarten is much nicer, and you get better beer. HB is overrated

Aha! You know Munich Beergardens!
Actually they are all are nice. And I shall be going to them all over the summer.
Here's where we've been recently. And next up its the Taxis Garten, Augustinerkeller and then the Flaucher by the river. I've a feeling it's going to be a good summer.

That 13o came as a bit of a shock then :D

Damn! had I known that Wales was so close to Sheffield I'd have stopped off for a cool one (y)

only a tiny detour

Our house was an old farmhouse and during the summer it would (once warmed up) stay at about 35 degrees day and night for around 3 months.
As you say, a bit of a shock, as is wearing thermal undies all year - only one pair at present, so I must be adjusting slowly..

Sunny spells and broken cloud. 20 C with 70% humidity under a moderate south west breeze . . . Aaah, so much more comfortable - and better for my elderly mother too. This time yesterday evening it was 30 C, just too much to bear, not to mention reminded me too much of my old tomato picking days.

Tomorrow is expected to be sunny and warm for most of us before a band of thundery rain and isolated thunderstorms is expected to move northwards over the UK on Friday night and into Saturday morning and then fair over England and Wales on Saturday.

Hi Chris! It's the law regarding the weather and the UK, you should know that by now. :pompous: :D

I thought it was due to all the "hot air" from the south

It has been hot down here in the land of hops and fruit.
Yesterday, it registered 45C outside , but I have been informed that it must be in the shade - so how does Heathrow get the record, with all those planes and baking hot runways, and all the fast food joints selling oily burgers and the like?
So, today, when the sun was bloked out at 1900 hours, it was 36C in the back garden - that is hot.

We now have a severe weather warning for storms and torrential rain this even and yep you've guessed I'm going out for dinner !!!!
Anyone got a boat I can borrow ?

Don't go to a seafood restaurant. If they get one whiff of freedom, the lobsters will be staging a rebellion.

Yep, I've read that all shellfish are prawn to escape attempts.:exit:

With no respect for their owners. Very shellfish of them.

I think all these silly pun jokes should be banned from TP!

You can often winkle some info out of them though.
