Yes
So, as parts of the country bask in mid 30's sunshine, here in Cornwall it is raining. It is 16 degrees which is almost a heatwave in Cornish terms though.
As I am stuck at home waiting for deliveries and a windscreen replacement I had hoped to soak up some rays - My factor 20 is sitting unloved and unopened on the shelf.

So, don't complain about how hot it is, OK....

When ever I go north for work it rains, today is no exception, just south of Sheffield, it's hammering down. Thunder and lightning 20 degrees

Stop moaning and pass me the factor 20 I need it up here :-)

It is lovely here in Central London. Really beautiful weather. I'm loving it.

So it was your fault was it? I was in the park , and could not believe it when it started to rain a little. It soon went off. I take it you did not stay long :-)

I'm sitting in it watching the lightning flash around me, highest point for miles around !

nope absolutely not if I wasn't on my phone I'd post a picture to prove it. As above it's only par for the course anyway!

So when you go back down south , please take the rain with you. I don't want to take the brollies down yet. Plus still got a few more beers to get through cheers :-)

It's vile here.....overcastish....30° c...Humid as hell.
Being outside is like swimming in glue.

Not it isn't. :p It's humid, and there's no breeze so the air pollution is horrid. I was glad to get back inside!

Ahh and people say it's bleak up North. Now where is that sun lotion :-)

Temp gauge on van reading 32 degrees, customers says it must be nice driving round with the air con on
Hmmm this is Royal Mail we are talking about....................... air con ??? :ROFLMAO: , according to the rules I shouldn't even have the windows
open.
At least I finish nice and early :)

Panic over, it's the police helicopter just flown over :)
Are you sure? That's how it started here just a faint little rumble ;)

Are you still in Kent? Lol....bright sunshine on the Kent coast and last time I looked it actually showed 34 degrees

Happy hot days with glorious sunshine and blue skies.....about to start the Barbie

Boiling up here also, got something baking in the oven, so that's making it even hotter

Stunning couple of days in northern Lincolnshire.
Booooooootiful

On a course in Leeds. Temp guage in car showing 33 on way back to Hotel.
Just enjoying a nice cold drink in the sun

On my way home. Had a lovely walk along the Thames. And a bbq and beer is waiting for me to cook and drink.

A couple of weeks ago, Mrs Nod was speaking to her mother who was telling her (Mrs Nod) about the very hot weather she'd had - 80°F. We were enjoying that at midnight that day!

Today was a bit drizzly a couple of times but not enough to keep the roof up on the way home in 23°C this afternoon.

Ah! It's 30deg and beergarden weather here. Time to sit in the shade with a cool beer in a 1 litre glass.

I don't mind the heat if I'm out in the sun. Went for a walk at work during lunchtime, we have a nice big grass bank and lake to sit around if we wish. :) Only thing I didn't like about the heat was trying to keep the temperature down in my engine dyno test room. Had all the blowers and extractors on at high speed, all vents open as well as the rear external door and the temperature was still 34-36 degrees, we're supposed to keep it to 23-27 degrees.

I think about 18 degrees is a nice summer temperature - nice and warm without getting super sweaty!

Also indoor temperatures are often about 3 degrees higher so end up about 21 degrees unless you have aircon - most residential properties in the uk do not have aircon, unlike other countries.

Work near Sevenoaks Mike.
And due to Stack it's just taken me two hours to get home :(

After the stom passed earlier, I recorded 38.8 coming home down the A1, south of Worksop!
Anyone want to buy a couple of oven ready hawks?
One Gyr saker slightly brown and one Harris Hawk, well cooked, even charcoaled you could say ;)
I turned the hose on them as soon as I got them home and they are feeling much happier now

And indeed, the record for the hottest July's day has been broken with 36.7 C at Heathrow at 4 pm today. The 36.5 C of 16th July '06 has been bettered but still short of the all time record of 37.8 C of 11th Aug '03.

I managed 30.4 C at about the same time here at my Folkestone coastal location, and it's still feeling stifling warm at 25 C at midnight as I type this but so far the stormy stuff has been avoiding my location.

It does look like Southern and Eastern parts may do well in terms of summer-like weather as we go into the first half of July, while tending to be that little bit cooler and unsettled towards the North West of the UK.

Mind you, I certainly don't miss working in a tomato greenhouse, like I used to do for a living. However, I bet the players at Wimbledon must have felt it big time today . . .

Listening to, and watching, a thunder storm rolling in across the Lothians
