I am trying to work out who have more sales days a year. DFS, or Debenhams. Mind you I used to love MFI, and the store manager, Keith....(for some reason he hated me, guess I may have been a bit awkward) following my stupid stupid idea of ordering a kitchen from there many years ago... I still have in the garage, 3 whole (slightly damaged at the end) worktops, 34 door cupboards (none fit our kitchen) , 3 spare carousel units, 4 blank boards to fill in edges, several metres of mitre tops, a spare sink and several hinges / screws etc.....and loads of other stuff... think there's even a spare cooker hood somewhere with about 11 miles of ducting..
I used to call up approx 2pm as drove down there to have the weekly, "where the f*** is my kitchen" rant, and why are you sending me all this crap... used to play golf on a particularly muddy course, and would buy a telegraph, and take up residence on their display cream leather sofa conveniently near the checkouts / design bureaus, and refuse to move to his office to discuss how carp they were, and why have I got 11 deliveries of carp , and not what I need... I think the final straw was when I mentioned storage charges for their carp (that was not mine).. It was fun... "I'm sorry Keith cannot take your call now, that's fine, I'll be there in 5 and I'll wait for him, yes, usual seat!!!) Used to sign it off in all sorts of names, none of which were mine... "Mr N Mandela", "Mr F Pienaar", "Mr N Mansell", even "Claudia Schiffer".. no one batted an eyelid... wonder why they went bust... ????
