I've seen some very nice results from someone using Oloneo http://www.oloneo.com/, which is still in beta and free to download as a trial.
I think that if you download the beta you may qualify for a discount when the software testing is finished.
I did notice that it renders the picture a lot quicker than photomatix on the same pc. The HDR Re-light looks like fun!
