I have an image and i want to create an HDR.

Its a JPG but i think the quality is good enough.

Ive opened it in CS4 and created 3 images -1 0 +1 exposure and saved them all as 3 seperate TIFF files.

Now how do i merge to get the HDR effect

You need to use a an HDR program like Photomatix etc, not sure if you can do it in CS4 as I don't use that. Not shure how good the HDR will be though just using a JPG as a starter.

Don't think CS4 will merge 3 jpegs, but in case it will you merge them from the file menu, file/automate/merge to hdr. Other wise try photomatix (that will work with jpegs) or Oleana (I think) thats a free beta trial at the moment a lot of people seem happy with it. Another good one is dynamic photo hdr, that will work with jpegs as well.

i downloaded photomatix but not impressed with my image .. perhaps it just wasnt a very good one to begin with!

I took the photo on my old Canon 350D when i didnt have a bloody clue what the buttons did!

What ive found from reading and seeing other peoples images is you need the right type of photo for HDR. For example the inside of churches or cathedrals always look awesome!

To merge you click 'File', 'Automate' then 'Merge to HDR'. Ive tried this a few times but they never look very good:thumbsdown: You need to have the box Local Adaption ticked also. As said try Oloneo and you'll get a Psuedo HDR image with little effort.
