can anyone surgest a program that lets u do hdr effect on a single photo?

The only way I know of is to open the raw file, and underexpose it and save. Do the same again and over expose it and save.

Then you will have 3 exposures, -1, 0, +1

The result will not be as good as using 3 bracketed shots from the camera though, as far as I know?

As said, you can copy a single image, vary the exposures combine the images, and often get a good result, but you really need tone mapping software for the best HDR results. You can dowload a free trial version of Photomatix which will give you a good introduction to how HDR works.

Photomatix will work from a single raw, Dynamic photo hdr will work from a single raw or jpeg, Photoshop CS5 will also work from either raw or jpeg.

Photomatix Pro. You can either use as a Ps plugin, or as I do, as a standalone program, save the 16bit TIFF and then fire into Ps for final tweaking.
