Yes
I just picked up an HD projector, it can do 180i and 720p so im trying to get the signal out from my computer to the projector.

What I have on the computer side of things on my gfx card is 2 x dvi-d ports (used) 1 x HDMI port 1 x Display Port

On the projector I have 1 x video out (composite) 1 x VGA 1 x S-video

What kind of cable should I be looking for? HDMI to composite or VGA?

I'd want the highest res possible.

Thanks in advance.

you can get HDMI to dvi adapter pretty cheaply, have a look

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-DVI-F-HDMI-M-Adapter-HDMI/dp/B000KGGGZW

should be able to plug that into the projector and then leave it there as such :)

dont forget though chances are you will need an audio cable from the computer to an audio device as the HDMI will not carry it through the adapter!

You'll find that you might have problems converting from any HDCP format (includes HDMI and DVI) to an analogue format...

In the AV industry you can get HDMI to component video adaptors but they don't abide by the rules of HDCP so may just 'not work' one day if HDCP decides no.

Its worth a read-up on Wikipedia.

Seems the projector only accepts analogue input, and your graphics card only has digital outputs.

Which graphics card is it? Are you sure they aren't DVI-I ports, as opposed to DVI-D?
If they are, they'll carry an analogue signal too, so you can use a DVI to VGA adapter.
Then shift whatever was using the DVI port previously to the HDMI or DP port.
