Hdd enclosure/can't find files help

my partners laptop decided it doesn't like coffee, I have taken the hdd out and put it in an enclosure, all her work and photos are there, no problem. What is a problem is this morning the iPad decided to fail to boot, I've tried to force update several times with it failing at the final hurdle so I will need to restore it but the backup was on her laptop. I can find the backups on mine for my iPad very simply in app data, Apple computer, backups.

I can't find the exact same file pathway on her hard drive, it asked for administrators permission to gain access and I gave it to myself, yet I still can't find it, I have searched all the folder names and I can't find it, my assumption is that it's there, it's just not letting me see it. Does anyone know why it would be doing this?

Yeah, it's hidden on my laptop but searching brings it up, it doesn't show anything on the hdd in the enclosure even when I search for it, but without it being there, I can't click to get permission to access it I don't think
 
I'm not sure which Windows versions do you use. are they two different ones /?

Open the HDD, 1. click View and select Options. Step 2: Show the hidden files and folders in the View settings. In the Folder Options window, choose View, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK.

now try searching ....
 
Are you sure it did the backups to the HDD and not iCloud. That would explain why you can't find it and you could restore it from there if that is the case.

I haven't tried that, I will try in the morning thank you, it's both windows 10 too

Nothing on iCloud, I rang Apple to check that unfortunately
