Hawk attacks "quad copter"

nice one

Good to see the bird came off ok too.

wow a jealous bird, I never knew that lol

Amazing to see, though if it was nesting nearby probably not the most sensible thing to do in flying it near to nest site...

Assuming defending the nest was the reason for the attack, obviously it may have been looking for a meal...

Out of interest is this your Video Bill?

No - as I indicated I saw it on another site - it is in the US and posted on Utube

Beautiful bird, just one strike and it "downed" the "copter"

Not a happy bird!!

No worries only asked as it was posted in a critique and sharing section, but I'm guessing either it was reported or a mod saw it there as I notice it's now moved :)

I posted it in Birds

Yeah, but critique sections are only for your work, not others (y) as anything posted in a "photos" section excluding "photos for pleasure" is open for critique....something like this where your sharing something you've found on the web should always go in the appropriate talking section (y)

Edit: Marc has explained it now from the staff perspective but the above is my reasoning for asking the question I did :)

I can't quite make out from that if its a ferruginous
or a young red tail,
Both can be quite aggressive, if it is a ferruginous,
I doubt that 'copter lived ;)

Brilliant!

I reckon the hawk should be fitted with a cam, then we can see it from the birds POV next time.

I'm hoping the fella fixes his toy. Fragile thing compared to a bird.

Fragile... really...

Honestly they can take a real beating, I've crashed a hexacopter with gimbal almost full chat into the dirt after loosing radio signal, the only thing it did was flip upside down and make the gopro dirty, cleaned it off slapped a new battery on it and sent it up again.

Glad the bird came off okay.

:)
