I'll be going to Hawaii for Honeymoon in August and start to plan things.

I've had a look on some of the travel websites but hoping for some reccommendations from people who have been.

We will be spending 6 days on Kauai and 7 on Maui.

Thanks in Advance

Andy

I've never been so all I can respond with is that I'm jealous as it looks amazing!!

Thanks Viv, Haleakala looks stunning! that is a must see then :)

You're going on your honeymoon and you need advice as to what 'activitis' you should be getting up to?

Your wife is such a lucky lady haha ;)

Apart from the obvious things :naughty:

I've been to both Islands. Kauai as you probably know is known as the garden island it's slightly more lush than Maui and less commercialised. I would say more suited to your first few days of your honeymoon. Lots to do on Maui, we did an helicopter tour of the island, Atlantis submarine tour, snorkeling (some of the best reefs and fish I've seen, including the great barrier reef). As mentioned above Mount Haleakala is a must do.
We drove up to the observatories, the air gets quite thin up there but the views are well worth it especially as you climb through the cloud base. You can arrange to go up the mountain by car and return down by bicycle.
We loved Hawaii , I'm sure you will too. But remember it's a bloody long way.

Hi Neil

Some good advice there too :) we both really want to do the snorkelling and i'm trying to persuade the mrs to do the heli tour.

On Maui we stayed at the Sheraton in Kaanapali, they have the cliff diving ceremony there every night. It's a torch procession through the grounds of the hotel with the guys blowing the Conch shells and then cliff diving through garlands thrown into the sea, lots of flames and outrigger canoes and stuff. You don't have to be staying at the hotel to see it. Well worth the trip if your staying in that area.

Some sort of volcano tour, I have family out there so not been on a tour myself but with the constant active volcanoes and a good guide you can bet your money on it 100% that you'll see some action. It should be illegal to go to Hawaii and not see some lava flows lol. Don;t know what it is about volcanoes but I just love them.

Hi Paul,

for sure we want to do a Volcano tour and it looks like its possible as a day trip from Maui, certainly near the top of my list for Hawaii.

Thanks for all the comments/suggestions so far :)

Had a look at pearl harbour but not sure it will be practical from where we're staying. Would love to go there one day though
