I've been offered dome work taking photographs for one of the organizations I coach basketball for. They want me to take photographs for their annual report from this month to march 2008

From the e-mail ----------
We will be looking for 1 or 2 sets of photos for each of our eight sports and
coaching from this month to March 08.

I'm not sure about pricing???

How many photos would that work out at? They say "1 or 2 SETS"?

Also where will the photos be used?

I'd also be inclined to price according to their size (although I can imagine many people will disagree with me there). If it's a small local team with no money, compared to an NBL team ;)...You get my drift.

Think about their size, and realistically what they might be able to afford. If its a small time organisation maybe even consider doing it free? Sure you wont get any money, but you will get your name heard.

However if you did it free this time, they then might expect it to be free all the time. so be careful with that.

I disagree with woody, it will not help your future getting your name written on some tiny article for few to read, especially if they know you did it for free.

I'd say, never do anything free for a client ...reduce the charges if you must, make it look as if your bending over backwards, but never do it free.

I would charge £100 per day min. (£12 per hour which is very cheep) plus number of prints per session costs, but as Marcel says ...how are they planning to use your images...??

i.e.
Two sets of ten prints A4 @ £10 each ...£200
Against
Two sets of ten images on a disc. At say £2 each ...£40 for single use only ... times by ten if they plan to use for all sorts of stuff... open to discussion obviously.
