Can anyone help?

When I am taking my photographs I generally shoot in raw format, I own a Canon EOS 450D with the kit lens, and I have recently done a few photoshoots of cars, but when I go to process them. if I try to boost the colour of the red or even the levels to bring it out, the colour goes extremely speckled and just looks terrible, so I cant immitate how the red actually looked in person

Is this a problem with the lens I am using, the cameras ability to record the colour red or I am doing something wrong when processing them?

Samples needed..

Irrc blue and red are most affected by noise if shooting at high iso's?

Are you trying to over saturate the red? As already said, if you post some examples we could offer better advice!

It would really help to see picture samples, prior to any editing. If you can upload a sample raw file that has the problem then people could take a closer look at what is going on. What is your lighting like? Blueish light, such as in shade under a clear blue sky will leave the red channel underexposed, requiring a big push from white balance to bring up the red level. If your shots are underexposed in general then that's a double whammy for the reds. Are the cars moving or static? If static then hopefully you have no problem to shoot at 100 ISO. Lots of questions/possibilities here, not much information. Samples will resolve most of that.
