Whilst in the supermarket today I over heard a conversation between two people about some person who is having an affair with another friend of theirs......and suddenly struck me how easy it would be to hide an affair with today's digital life style.....

Your other half would have problems trying to read your credit card bills as most are online these days and and password protected. you could always send emails from a bogus account to make it look like it's official business and other work related activity......

Plus with the likes of Craig's list and gumtree...well no strings attached if you know what I mean....

Ps. I am not thinking of having an affair.... Can't afford to keep the wife that I have got without adding another variable to the equation. ;)

Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean you can't look at the menu.

But if people are discussing your affair over the fruit & veg at Tescos, your other half may well hear about it!

..makes me feel so old and boring - I just discuss the fruit and veg at Tesco..!

That said, to spice up my life a little I do squeeze the odd plum or two in Asda !

I would have thought although I have never tried, and never plan to, that the advent of camera smartphones, Twitter and Facebook make the risk of being caught far higher even with the ability to hid a paper trail online.

Only if you go to places that people know you or if you decide to tweet that you are S&^%gin somebody else......

For example.... My missus never has seen my credit card statements as I go paperless and log on once a month to pay the bill and it is password protected... so I could buying a train ticket to London and renting rooms . pay by credit card. no one any the wiser.......and of course I would saying that I have to go to a TP weekend in London ... ;)

Yeah thats it blame the megga meet :p
(there are plenty of rooms local too ;))

I'm not convinced TBH that it would be that easy to have an affair in this (Cyber) day and age though,
for the reasons given \/

Someone I work with is apparently not on Facebook (can't find him), but we see him spending a lot of time on there.

He accidentally left his PC unlocked and we found out he has a Facebook account under a made up name with lots of friends, all female and is currently single. Strange as I have met his wife and daughter.

I only have a joint account, but I'm happy with the current wife :)

When facebook first came about, back in the Friends Reunited days, people used to give false names all of the time. Funny how people's privacy expectations online have changed. :/
I think privacy expectations changing would make it harder to get away with having an affair...locally anyway, but so many people drive now, it's no big deal to go to the next city or a few cities across...

So that's who grabbed me this morning!

Oh grape, here comes the usual forum fruits :D

Sounds about as slimy as they come.

don't see the point in having an affair at all. Either discuss it with your partner and work something out or be single, instead of inevitably hurting someone.

I found out about my ex-wife's affair BECAUSE most of it was done online with a bloke at work......

After I had my suspicions I checked her phone, no texts from the guy but his number was always the last used. I had set up her online mobile phone account so it was easy to check the statements which showed 60-70 text a DAY to him, even though they sat next to each other. There were also picture/video messages which by accessing her work email account showed they were sending each other *private* pictures (taken in the toilets at work) and videos.

Add to that she used the same password for EVERYTHING, accessing all her email accounts was straight forward...... however she still flatly denied she was having an affair

I would say that before even mobile phones it would have been a lot easier to hide and affair.
