As the thread title says, have you had the problem yourself?

After my mild rant on the D750 thread and a conversation with LCE Head Office, it seems that as a special deal, they (LCE and Nikon) are prepared to give me £150 against my (very!) old F65 on a D750 deal but I'm a little worried about the reported problem, hence the thread and poll.

I've read a fair amount of the thread but don't really want to go back through all 40 or so pages to see how many people have actually had the problem themselves and how many are regurgitating what they've heard/read.
 
I've had no problems with mine so far, even after trying to replicate the issue .... although the serial number suggests that it is one of those affected.
 
Same here tried to replicate but couldn't yet my serial number says that it is one of the faulty ones. Haven't decided wether I'll return it or not yet.
 
No problem here and I have been unable to replicate it so far. Not shot much into direct sunlight yet but to be honest I never really do.

Would be helpful if those who voted "Yes, in lots of situations" could expand slightly...

And, somewhat ironically, noted that the Canon had the exact same issue.

This is literally just an initial forum post where by utter fluke the exact circumstances have been met to trigger it in a real world photo, that has got out of hand quite spectacularly, with lots of people then trying and succeeding in replicating it. As the article mentions, the 1DX has even more noticeable banding in the same circumstances, but it's been out there for 3 years with nothing mentioned.
 
I tried to see it in live view pointing at a light, but couldn't see any flare. No problem at all in normal use. My numbers came up in the Nikon lottery though, so I guess it will go back at some point to get the black spot.
 
OK, as it stands, it's a 12:3 No problem:seen the issue split, a gamble I'm prepared to take, particularly since it will be taken care of by Nikon should it need doing!

I have been watching the D750 thread with interest as I fancy one myself. Now that Nikon have the serial number checker up can you not check out the cameras LCE are going to give you before accepting them?

All good and will email an update very soon - I have a new toy to play with the Nikon D7000 and it does feel more like a real camera compared to my outgoing D5100.
 
Absolutely no problem - I have even tried to replicate it to no avail - yet on the Nikon serial number checker my camera is one of the affected :thinking:

Perhaps I'm not doing it right but it doesn't seem rocket science however, I fear I'm going to have to be without the camera for a week at some point as it will have to go back to Nikon regardless as it'll become an issue in the 2nd hand market I'm sure.
 
Again, thanks to all who took the time to reply to the thread and expand a little on their experiences.

I'm going into this with my eyes wide open, fully aware that there may well be a problem but that it can be fixed at no expense to me! I already have a D700 and lenses to suit and did have a D800 for a while but found that for some reason I was using the D700 in preference to the 800. The D750 sounds like the answer to my wish list and there's only one way to find out if the wishes will translate to real life!
 
I've not noticed it, but also haven't gone looking for it. Just filled in the form to send mine in as the website says it needs to go back.
 
Website say's I'm affected, but having a half hearted look has revealed nothing so I'm not too fussed. Waiting to see if the fix cures the issue without introducing any unwanted side effects to the AF, which I'm loving at the moment.
