I guess i'm a little bored, but it's coming up to a year of me joining TP and so i took a little look back at my opening post and the first few of my photos i posted for critique....

Even tho it's only a year it was quite nice to see..

One of the main things and i think this is quite important especially how the critique section is viewed by some, but you was all so lovely, honest yes but politely and constructively so...


Anyway my point wasn't to go all god damn mushy and sentimental but basically to ask....

Have you looked back recently? if you haven't b****r off and go and do it now:lol:
 
I believe my first threads got lost in one of the many TP meltdowns :( That or they have just been swept under the pile of many empty Jaffacake boxs :shrug:
 
Over a year since I joined and 3000 posts less...ummmm...now what does that say ;)
Have learnt a lot from people on here, just putting it into practise is the hardest bit.
The bit that I noticed is when you're new you're posting pics up all the time, as you get more settled the pic posting gets less....or is it just me?

To be honest i only posted a few, my confidence wasn't all that and i had never been on a photography forum before so i was rather scared....

I'm not posting anything at the moment because i'm not getting out with the camera either:bang:

When I thing about joining TP I think boy if I hadn't had joined it would have probably saved me £7-8000 :eek:

But there is something that is not a probable, it's a sure fire certainty and that is I wouldn't be the photographer that I am today, thanks to this forum and many of the amazing photographers on here I've become a much better photographer myself, but more importantly I've made some amazing friends and them and this forum has helped me through the toughest times of my life over that nearly three years that I've been a TPer, I'm proud to be able to say I'm a TPer and I'm thankful of the day that I joined up

Thanks go in this instance not only the green team for the great job that they do but also the great many members of the forum that make this IMO the best forum on the interweb

You are right tho matt, i have met some lovely people mainly on here although i am hoping to get to some more meets in the future..

It also opened my eyes to quite a few niggles that i just wouldn't have thought of etc..

Truly lovely here isn't it....... :gag::love:

Well... actually, yes, of course I have.

A lot of things have changed, I've retired for one thing, for whatever reason I don't do as much photography as I used to, and when I do post it's almost exclusively in "out of focus". I couldn't care less about post counts but I still enjoy the forum. I'm getting grumpier as I get older though! :lol:

Photography wise it's been a sharp and expensive learning curve moving from film to digital, I still get out and about a fair bit when I can and think I have everything I need now, well except a tripod but the jury is still out on that
It did inspire me to pack up smoking a few years back, so I could buy what I wanted with the money I saved

I no longer get involved or pay attention to the TP drama. I think this is probably the first time I have posted this year.
 
Nope. I've never gone back to my early posts - can't even remember what they were about now - other than an argument (debate?) with someone about professional photography and copyright. I think it ended amicably enough, but perhaps not...........!
 
I have very few memories of the past few years... Pretty sure I got rather long winded about a year ago - something to do with suddenly being able to think probably! Not certain when I joined, although I think it was before I started getting very ill. I've learned a reasonable amount here - not necessarily about photography, more the technical side of kit.
 
Anyone want to see one of my "early days" stunning shots.....perfect horizon, pin sharp and great prop blur, if anyone needs some tips my advice is free :)
