So after a friend of mine saying to me how face book was so great, i decided to join.

Cant understand what is so great about it.

Mind you i only have one friend on it so maybe thats why nothing much is happening on it.:lol:

Is facebook more like your own web page?:thinking:

Am i doing something wrong lol dont understand how it works:shrug:
 
facebook allows you to have lots of friends that you dont want to talk to, as well as giving you the opportunity to watch attention whores and drama llamas go to pieces before your very eyes!

Don't worry, there's nothing great about it, it's utter *****e. Total waste of time for people with limited imagination and too much time on their hands. Tedious, vacuous crap for tedious, vacuous people. I am constantly amazed for what passes for entertainment these days. Mind you, the wife advises that I am becoming a grumpy old sod so am probably best ignored. Mobile phones. They're crap too. And that WiiFat thing. :annoyed:

I deleted my account after a week , couldn't see the point of it all

I agree. My sister signed my wife up so I was dragged screaming there also.
Made the mistake of putting 'relatives' there as friends, including my 13yr old 2nd cousin and twin 17yr old nephews. Not a good idea.
My sis is bad enough - always doing this and that quiz then inviting me to beat her score.
They also play games on there like tetris - didn't bite.
Last straw was when my OLDER sis-in-law 'found' us then started stupid polls on everyone she knows.
Example - 'Do you think Jill (my wife) is polite?' DOH
What really turned me off -
Poll 1 - 'Do you think Ian (me) uses toys in the bedroom?'
Poll 2 - 'Do you think Ian would clean up your puke?'
Poll 3 - 'Do you think Ian still sleeps with a teddy bear'

I'm sorry but coming from a 60 something grandmother that's not funny, or do you think it is?

OK, it's harmless fun but what a waste of space.

I use facebook but really just for chatting to friends if they are on line at the same time. But I have done the odd silly quiz just for fun.

I suppose kinda like Bebo then. I am a member of Bebo *** rarely go on it much. Just for a nosey to see what people have been up 2
 
I'm another been there, done that, de-registered kinda grumpy old git :thumbs:

Maybe us folk should start an anti facebook revolution - get our own site, become friends to swap anti facebook messages and set up polls discussing which features we dislike the most etc etc etc :naughty:

Never used it personally. I had to register an account to get url's to help me firkle my opendns whitelist so the kids can use it, but other than that I don't see the point.

My llamas take exception to this. Fact;). I like FB...ignore the silly pokey stuff, easy way to keep in touch with people in the working day thro their one-liners/chat/mail who don't do the messenger stuff (as many don't)...and not as in your face as Tweeter.
 
I like FB also, I use it to keep in touch with people I care about, and to have a giggle at people I dont ;) . Once you'v figured out how to hide all the stupid applications that are of no use nor ornament, then its ok. As long as your careful what you share or say, then its fine, just dont put photos from that day out at the beach that you phoned in sick to work for, because you may forget that your boss is on it too!
 
you mean you meet real people NOT on the internet???
 
I quite like FB, although I joined under protest. It's put me back in touch with alot of people I lost touch with (for various reasons) and it's also good for keeping up with what my friends are doing (as alot of them live 250 miles south of here). I even have a few friends from TP too :)

I can't spend hours and hours on it like some people do though.
