Yes
Been thinking of going full frame via a Nikon D700. Then I was given the chance of a new D3 at a price I couldn,t believe, £1,299 yes that is not a misprint. It was from a national chain of photography shops and was the very last D3 in the business. I have since looked around the net and cannot see any cheaper than £3,000. Look forward to trying it with my 24-70 lens.:thumbs:

Sounds pretty good!

deal of the century I'd say

Wow, i think i would find another £250 somewhere on top of what i paid for my D300, well done that's cheaper than a D700 !!

Where - How!!!!

I was feeling good as I spotted a bargain in Tesco yesterday - Finest Scottish Wild Sardines in Oil 21p reduced from £1.79. Not really in the same league.

Yep, wouldn't get a middling 2nd hand for that money!

Arkady got the bargain D3 of the year, think it worked out as something crazy like £750 all in, after a couple of repairs etc, that got paid for...

you're second though :P

You've updated your camera already!
Seriously though, I hope you get it! :)

Well done, surprised a staff member didn't grab it and then flog it!!

Great deal! Only bettered by the recent Currys/Dixons mess up on Ebay! Name the place? As I am in Leicester too would like to hear the circumstances? Was it Youngs or someone closing down? Can't imagine it was sitting on a display somewhere and just happened to see it?

ps edit. Just noticed you are friends with Chris, the store manager at Jessops.

But mine didn,t need any repairs and only had sixty clicks.
In answer to the posters who wanted to know where it came from,it was in one of Jessops London branches and when I said I would have it at the price I was quoted,£1,499 it was sent to the Leicester branch. When I went to pay a deposit and I looked at the receipt it had gone down by £200 which was a surprise to me and the guy serving me. I didn,t want to say where it came from untill I had gotten hold of it,which I have now and am very pleased with it. The reason I have only just posted this info is because I have been away for a couple of days.
Tomorrow I will put up some photos on the general photo forum.

Makes a change to get something decent out of Jessops. Since they closed the big one off Hinckley Road I've been disappointed and have used Jacobs instead. Sweet deal though, well done!

It's not a bad deal, but then again, it's not a Canon ;)

I know 60 actuations isn't a lot, but technically it's not a new camera, did you get the 2 year Nikon Warranty or the Jessops 1 year one?

I got the Nikon two year warranty. Just registered this morning.

Jolly good - most of the cheap cameras and lenses sloshing around in the Jessops' system are customer returns, not that it matters at that price...

Sounds just like my 1d3, Jessops 'demo' camera, the last one in the chain. Apparently never had a lens on it. Picked it up for £2000. When the mk4 was still over £4k! with the canon 2 years warranty and a years 0%. Quite a bit less than ordering from HK at the time too!

Sounds like its a normal way they deal with the units they have left over. Just a shame their glass prices are so high!
