Yes
Managed to get a battery grip for my 5D and boy does it feel heavy. Didn't think there was much weight difference when i had a 30d with battery grip and 17-55 IS. But now i feel i need stronger muscles since its just the 5D+grip and 24-105. how am i going to feel if i buy the 24-70???

The sad thing is i don't think i needed the grip as i wanted it only to hold an extra battery. Since I felt the 5D was ok without the grip when holding in portrait/vertical mode.

So i may end up selling it or i just have to persevere (sp??)

well, what can I say... does the cap fit?
do you drink shandy or real ale?
this wimp thing is far too complex to be decided over a dslr grip :bonk:

Tis a bit of a worry, I put a grip on mine just to stop it blowing away in a breeze. ;)

Well I don't think you're a wimp at all as I've heard this first hand before now.

My granny took her 5D and grip on the 3 peaks challenge and thought it a little bulky when she was absailing down Snowdon at the end.

Hopefully your ego is suitable restored now.....

"Heavy is good. If it dosen't work, you can always hit him with it"

Guess the movie lol :D

My kit weighs a fair amount when i'v got it all on, the 400D on it's own is pretty light, but with a 430ex, grip and new lens, it gets pretty heavy. Not unmanageble tho.

The 5 needs a grip..........!!

end of

DF ... you got it wrong.... when peeps have been telling you to get a grip they meant ... ahh never mind! ;)

Im just glad Im female, 'cos after walking around with the 70-200 mm F2.8 on the 5D for a few hours,
my mitts just sort of dangle at the ends of my wrists in a rather limp fashion

Time for a little weight training, get out of the wimps camp. :help:

1dII + 70-200 and a 20 + 100-400...

I go hiking with the 1d and 24-70

I often spend the day walking around with the 200-400 VR on my D2x, more often than not with it attached to a tripod as well! Everything seems pocket size once your used to lugging that around :)

Used to be hard work but these days I don't give it asecond thought, its just what you get used too. Once you have been carrying your 5D etc for a while you'll stop noticing the weight :)

All wimps, try it with a 1dmk2n + 600mm + tripod + head + bag full of sarnys
